Nisswa Garden Club was organized in 1939 with a small group of 10 women from the Nisswa Women's Club. Our mission statement is: To stimulate and develop a spirit of gardening and promote interest among club members and the community in civic and home beautification projects. To provide practical knowledge and education in all aspects of horticulture. To encourage good stewardship of our planet and promote education to protect and conserve our natural resources. The club has monthly meetings and a luncheon from January to October that are open to the public, and are generally scheduled on the fourth Thursday of the month. We feature speakers with knowledge and expertise in gardening in Minnesota. You may contact Barb at 218-330-6661 to find out details of our upcoming meetings, or check our Facebook page "Nisswa Garden Club". Our Nisswa Gardens Committee works hard all summer to help beautify Nisswa by planting and maintaining several flower garden areas throughout the town. In a typical year we also have a Plant Sale at Schaefer's Foods in early June and a garden tour in August.
